With our standard extruder, you can add up to 10-15% fresh meat slurry. If you equip the Double-Shaft Steam Conditioner, you can increase the fresh meat inclusion to 20-40% while maintaining a perfect kibble shape and high digestibility.
Can I produce both Dog and Cat food on the same line?
Yes. The extruder is versatile. You can switch between products by changing the Extruder Die (Mold) for shape and adjusting the recipe (e.g., higher protein/fat for cats). We provide die options for bone, fish, heart, and round shapes.
Why choose a Twin-Screw Extruder over a Single-Screw?
For pet food, Twin-Screw is essential. It provides better mixing shear, handles high fat/oil formulas (up to 20%) without slipping, and has a self-cleaning function. Single-screw machines are cheaper but are limited to simple starch-based feeds with low nutritional value.
Do I need a steam boiler for this line?
Yes. To use the Steam Conditioner and the Steam Heating Dryer (most efficient for large capacity), you will need a separate Steam Boiler. If you choose an electric dryer for a small capacity line (e.g., LY-65), a boiler might be optional, but product quality is always better with steam.
Can this machine make floating fish feed as well?
Yes, the twin-screw extruder can control the expansion degree. By adjusting the temperature, pressure, and screw speed, you can produce both floating fish feed and sinking pet food on the same equipment.
